Quote It Saturday 10/10

I skipped last week because we were out of town but wanted to get back to my new weekend feature, Quote It Saturdays, started by fellow book blogger, That Chick That Reads. I enjoy posting this weekly feature on my book blog and thought I'd try it on the CFS blog as well, with book quotes that especially spoke to me as someone living with chronic illness.

This week's quote is from a book of essays, Above Us Only Sky, by one of my favorite writers, Marion Winik:

Instead of burning my candle at both ends, I learned to light it only for special occasions.
Marion was writing about plain-old modern life, with all its crazy stresses, but doesn't this perfectly express how we've had to change our lives for CFS?

Hope you're enjoying a relaxing weekend!

I should be going to bed but couldn't help peeking at my blog dashboard to see who had posted recently.

Love this quote and I should learn from it. So I shall extinguish my candle for today and switch my laptop off.

I hope you are relaxing too and getting some normality back.

What a great idea! I love quotes from books.

A friend of my parents kept a notebook in which she would record all of her favorite quotes. I always thought that was a great idea.

Great quote too!

I've just managed to figure out how to add blog feeds to my new RSS Reader on my iPod Touch (brain-fog related stupidity foiled previous attempts)...and it has uploaded all these older blogs onto my iPod along with the new I apologise for the tardy response!

I LOVE that quote, Sue! I just might adopt that as my new mantra!
